Ashley was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she graduated from McCaskey High School and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. She has always had a strong passion for helping people which led her to begin her working career in the human services field. She has had the opportunity to work and gain her expertise in different positions from Delaware County Pennsylvania Office of Intellectual Disabilities, Lancaster County Pennsylvania Children & Youth Agency, State of Georgia’s Human Services Department and The Department of Family and Children Services. Over the past 10 years, she has built an extensive training background in leadership, communication, problem solving and she was able to build upon her knowledge in social change, diversity, equity and inclusion; information gathering, documentation and data analysis.
Ashley has partnered with stakeholders in the communities she has worked and built relationships to solve the challenges faced in the child welfare system and in the workplace. As a field program specialist and consultant for the state of Georgia, she learned the importance of gathering data and information to achieve better outcomes in the system. Strong leadership, organization and communication were constantly at the forefront of the success of projects assigned in her case management and supervisory positions.
After working for a variety of agencies in her career and facing similar problems at each stop, she noticed the absence of significant factors which build a strong workplace: good leadership, effective communication, good organization, and diversity. Working with her teams at each stop, she was able to find solutions to those problems, help people grow, become more engaged, and provide a positive work culture for everyone.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends; reading and traveling and currently resides in Metro Atlanta, Georgia.
